Unterpainting

6 x 12" acrylic on canvas
This painting is inspired by all the women I see when I am going to the pool in Truro.

They, or I better say, we come in all shapes, sizes and ages.

I am inspired, seeing a elder walking with a walker to the pool's edge abandoning her walker and slipping into the lane next to me. As I swim my lanes, I look over and here she is with her nose clip and her goggles doing the front crawl lane after lane, till she switches to back stroke.

After an hour we both exit the pool.

Now this is inspiring!

Definitely a Pool Day

It is still dark, I can not see it, the light of the lamp is reflecting in the windows but I hear the Strait roar.

I picture the waves rolling over, imagining white frothy foam when they roll.
Waves washing over the sand and the rocks, carrying the voices of PEI, from the Gulf Stream, from, from..... Carrying debris, hopefully not a a lot of garbage onto our beach.

I wonder, where the powerful Strait will have moved the rocks? Where will be the sandy path into the water, when I go on Sunday after the sauna to see if I can lower myself into the water?

Definitely a Pool Day today!
